Greenhawk Giving Day

December marked a special milestone for Greenhawk as we hosted our very first Greenhawk Giving Day, an initiative under our Business for Good program. Each team member was given $250 to donate to a charity of their choice, with Greenhawk matching donations dollar-for-dollar up to an additional $250 per person.

After an inspiring round of “pitches” by our team, we collectively chose to support six wonderful organisations, a few of which we profile below.

It was a heart-warming way to wrap up the year! We’re excited to make Giving Day an annual tradition.

Our first Charity Spotlight shines on Foster Hope, nominated by our fabulous Ainz Gemmell. Reflecting on the importance of family and support, Ainz wanted to highlight the work Foster Hope does for children in foster care, ensuring they feel cared for by their community during difficult times.

Foster Hope received the most votes from our team, showing just how much their mission resonates with us. Their work directly impacts vulnerable children, offering them kindness and stability in times of uncertainty.

“Imagine the shame of having to host guests in your home but they could only use the thickets if they needed to relieve themselves.

When I received money from GiveDirectly, I spent $374 to dig up a pit and construct a latrine. It has 2 rooms in which the other acts as a shower room. It is beautiful and I love it. It is not just about the beautiful building, but the structure also represents freedom from an embarrassment that has weighed on me daily for two decades. It means security, health, and a future where my family would no longer have to feel shame in their own home.
