Powerhouse Social: Foundations for Scale

Powerhouse Social set out to democratise learning—building a platform where everyday entrepreneurs could create and share courses with passionate learners across the globe. Their vision was bold, but before launch, they faced two critical gaps: understanding international tax obligations, and putting the right financial systems in place to handle growth.

We came on board as both commercial sounding board and risk manager. Working closely with founder David Ding and the team, we refined the launch strategy, reduced compliance risk, and built financial models that mapped pricing against different levels of customer activity. These models gave Powerhouse clear visibility of costs and revenue potential — allowing them to make informed choices about how best to grow.

Alongside this, we managed Powerhouse’s international tax exposure, prepared financial statements and returns, and provided ongoing bookkeeping support. Regular system testing kept us close to the platform itself, ensuring financial operations evolved seamlessly alongside the technology.
