Last year, Greenhawk Wānaka joined our Auckland office in transitioning away from rubbish bins under desks to a centralised recycling, compost and waste station.

This quick and easy change has significantly improved our waste sorting, halving the volume of waste we send to landfill (yay!) and completely eliminating food waste from our landfill bin (double yay!). This second win is especially important, as organic waste emits methane – a greenhouse gas 12 times as potent as carbon dioxide.

Our simple setup includes separate bins for waste, recycling, soft plastic and compost. Our team takes turns taking the compost home.
